Fueltreat's 10 Steps of Quality

Find out why can we provide a better diesel fuel quality.

Tanks

    • Inspect dip and fill points regularly. These areas can accumulate water and allow it to enter the tank. Check to make sure caps seal properly.
    • Do not clean or hose down vehicles directly above underground tanks, or where runoff water will flow over the tank. Detergent can enter the tank and cause water to be held up in the fuel.
    • Tanks must be tested regularly to ensure compliance with local regulations. Fueltreat can advise you on the most appropriate method for your tank.
    • Minimize condensation in vehicle, boat and equipment tanks by keeping the tanks topped up with fuel.

Fuel

    • Inspect the fuel regularly. It should be clear and bright. Any haze in the fuel is due to water being held up in the fuel phase. This may indicate microbial (bacteria, fungi, yeast) contamination of the fuel.
    • Remove any water from the fuel. Drain water from above ground tanks frequently. Use a small pump to remove water from underground tanks. Fueltreat does not recommend using products that disperse or take-up water into the fuel. In fact, such additives can take fuel out of specification.
    • If your fuel is contaminated by fuel microbes, use Fueltreat's Fuelbiocides, BC-250 or FT-400 to eliminate them. These products also protect your fuel against contamination.
    • If you store fuel for extended periods, use a fuel stabilizer to maximize the storage life of the fuel.
    • Use a water separator to protect your valuable equipment from water damage. Contact Fueltreat to discuss your requirements.
